The Program, It’s About Change opens second Midstate location
YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – May 14, 2019 – The Program, It’s About Change is a local nonprofit which helps those recently released from prison, and they have opened a second location here in the Midstate.
The program offers assistance to those just out of jail, to help them start new lives. It just opened its second location, this one is on South George Street in York.
Officials say the first days, weeks, and months of freedom to a parolee are the most critical to his or her success.
Volunteers with the organization help them to find jobs, find a place to live and even reunite with family members.
“For me personally, living in York, we wanted to make sure we brought these services to York. There are so many returning men and women in York County in dire need of assistance,” said AliceAnne Frost, of The Program, It’s About Change.
The organization also provides free one-on-one mentoring to people getting out of incarceration. Its other location is in Harrisburg.
